At Toorak Village Podiatry we offer in depth running podiatry assessments to analyse your running form. Understanding your running form can help you to improve efficiency, manage injury and give you some pointers to work on!
What to expect
With you running assessment we look at your form across a range of paces that you might typically run at. Wear your typical running gear so that we can see what is happening across the whole body. We can assess you running outside or on a treadmill.
We discuss your technique and then change things like form, speed and footwear to assess how it affects your form.
What we look for
We use an ipad to calculate marker points and then look at things like foot strike, knee position and arm swing in detail. We relate our visual findings to any injuries you may be experiencing. We also look at any differences between one side and the other. It should be noted that there is no perfect running style, but understanding what is happening can be very useful for a runner.

What to expectFollowing your assessment you will receive access to your footage, with some helpful commentary. We will also provide you with some simple exercises to work on to help with your form.
