Sports Podiatry

Sports podiatry is a specialised area of podiatry that focuses on the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of foot and ankle injuries related to sport and physical activity. At Toorak Village Podiatry we are trained in the biomechanics of the foot and lower limb and understand how different activities can affect the feet and ankles.

We work with athletes and active individuals to help prevent injuries and improve performance. We use techniques such as gait analysis, orthoses and specialised exercises to address issues such as overpronation or supination, improper landing or push-off mechanics and other biomechanical imbalances that can lead to foot and ankle injuries.

Common conditions treated by Toorak Village Podiatry include plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendonitis, stress fractures, ankle sprains and shin splints.

Our podiatrist John Charles, has a special interest in running injuries and running footwear and would be the perfect choice if you are a keen runner.

Naomi Blood, Emma Noxon, Alexandra Rejda and Genevieve Scott are also experienced in sports podiatry with interests covering netball and basketball, tennis, the weekend warriors, walking and even ice skating!

We are committed to helping active individuals maintain their activities and quality of life no matter what their age is!
